It has been quite a while since we heard about music for babies. Music has always been related to healing and how it affects patients. But this article talks about how music has improved the way surgeons do their work in the operating theatre. The research also shows how music positively effects surgeons reaction on several cases of surgery and also prepare the surgeons with the appropriate mood for the the surgery and even the patients.
The reserach done by General surgeon Dr. Claudius Conrad, also an accomplished pianist, shows that majority surgeons and nurses at 3 major hospitals in US uses music in the operating theatre as background music and also as a setting for their operations. Different music were used and the research showed that music improves the speed and yet maintain the quality of work they do. Slow movements are also proved to ease the patients before surgery.
So, music usage in operating theatre is definitely an advantage. Anybody interested in making an album specifically for surgeons? Classical for Surgeons or Adagios for Patients, perhaps?
